- 1). Locate the DOT number on the front side of the tire. You will see DOT markings on both sides and the front side has the letters DOT followed by 10 to 12 letters and/or numbers.
- 2). Note the last four digits of the DOT number. They will all be numerals in a form similar to 2506 or 1211.
- 3). Decode the tire's manufacture date. The first two digits of the number indicate the week of the year and the second two show the year of production. For example, the tire showing 1211 was produced in the 12th week of 2011.
