    End System Processes

    • Stop XP Security Center from running in the background. Press "Ctrl," "Shift" and "Esc" keys simultaneously to launch the Windows Task Manager. Click on the "Processes" tab and click on "XPSecurityCenter.exe" to select it. Click on the "End Process" button to stop the spyware from operating on your computer and close the Task Manager.

    Unregister DLL Files

    • Unregister the DLL files created by XP Security Center. Go to the "Start" menu, click on "Run," type "cmd" and hit "Enter." Type "regsvr32/u mp3avi.dll" in the command line dialogue window and hit "Enter" to unregister the file. Repeat this process for "XunLeiBHO_Now.dll," "alisj.dll," "VideoMP3.dll," "PowerVideo.dll," "sysdivx.dll" and "windivx.dll." Close the window.

    Delete Registry Entries

    • You also need to delete the hidden traces of the spyware in the system registry. Go to the "Start" menu, click on "Run," type "regedit" and click on "OK" to bring up the Registry Editor. Find and delete the following keys and values:

      Do not remove or modify any other entries, otherwise you risk disabling the operating system. Close the Registry Editor when done.

    Remove Files and Folders

    • To completely remove XP Security Center from your computer you need to detect and remove its files and directories. Go to the "Start" menu, click on "Search," select "All Files and Folders" and choose the hard drive to be searched. Type "XPSecurityCenter.exe" and hit "Enter." Delete all of the search results and repeat for "XP Security Center.exe," "mp3avi.dll," "XunLeiBHO_Now.dll," "alisj.dll," "VideoMP3.dll," "PowerVideo.dll," XP Security Center.lnk," "sysdivx.dll" and "windivx.dll." Restart your computer to finish the removal.
